Rock Show

Friday night at the downtown YMCA, there's a concert that will include students from Lefler Middle School who have participated in the School of Rock after school program through the YMCA. All of these kids are in middle school, and many of them never played an instrument before they joined the club.

These groups are good for cover bands, and amazing for cover bands consisting entirely of people aged 11 to 14. Each band will perform a few songs, and the show will be headlined by a performance from club leader Nick's band, the JV Allstars.

Most importantly, the kids set this gig up. So it's $3 for admission, and if they manage to cover their expenses, these kids will actually make a buck or two on their first open-to-the-public gig.

So come. It's one of those feel-good, yet be very impressed, types of things.
